One of my biggest priorities as a family photographer is to make my families feel seen and comfortable in front of the camera during their family session. You shouldn’t feel uncomfortable by the way a photographer makes you feel or pose. It should be an uplifting experience to have your growing family captured.
More than we’d like, the outdoor conditions may not be ideal for a photo session and your family may not be up for the photos. But we just have to roll with it and capture the moments no matter what. My two biggest tips at this moment are:
While you and your family hang our and have fun with each other, I’ll be doing my job of capturing the moments of you spending time together.
I firmly believe that family sessions are important and the best way to capture your growing family. But I love even more when the families in front of my camera feel the same way.
Why Heather takes the time to have sessions done:
“Memories, seeing and appreciating how much the kids grow and change. I think it is important to remember the beauty and challenges from each year in an artistic, beautiful and powerful way. I also read a study that children who grow up in homes that have photos of themselves and with their families hanging in their homes have a higher level of self esteem and feeling of love within their families. It’s important to me that my children know and see how much they are loved and how important they are in all the ways they can.”
