Lifestyle newborn photos are a beautiful way to capture the special moments with your new bundle of joy in your own home. However, not everyone wants to have photos taken in their own home during the newborn stage. And that’s totally ok! We can create the same candid, lifestyle look in a studio so that you can still have newborn photos that are beautiful and meaningful.
It was so sweet having the Safie family in the studio for their newborn session! While this was their third daughter, this was their first newborn session. So I asked Mom a few questions to provide some insight into why she chose to do a session this time around!
Q: How old are older 2 your girls? Did you do newborn sessions with them?
A: Amira is 6 and Sofia is 3. We didn’t do newborn sessions with them, this was our first.
Q: Why did you decide to do newborn photos this time around?
A: After seeing these photos I wish I had done newborn sessions with my other girls. It sounds weird but I literally want to live in these photos. This is our last baby, so our last newborn phase, I really wanted to capture what our family looks like right in this moment.
Q: What was it like having your older girls be a part of the session?
A: I loved it. I can’t imagine having done this without them being a part of it.
Q: What was your favorite part of your newborn session?
A: My favorite part was the candid aspect of it. Some of my favorite photos are of just us being together. There is one picture where I am nursing Rayna and talking to my two older girls. I love that picture and it wasn’t planned or posed.
Q: What advice would you give a pregnant mama who may be on the fence about having newborn photos done?
A: Do the session. When your babies are older, whether that’s in years or just a few months later, you will love looking back at these photos.
I’m so glad I was able to capture these memories for the ____. I can’t wait for the next time I have them in front of my camera!

This bassinet is from Pottery Barn and I just loved it too much not to share a link! It was the perfect neutral background for the session and can be fit into so many styles.
